Massage Therapy FAQs

01. Booking & Appointments

How do I book an appointment?

All appointments are booked online through my booking page. This allows you to view current availability, choose your service and complete any required forms before your appointment.

Libra Massage is by appointment only and does not accept walk-ins.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Same-day appointments are not typically available. Online booking will always show the most current availability, and you can join the waitlist if your preferred time is unavailable.

Do you accept walk-ins?

No. Libra Massage is a private, appointment-only practice.

All appointments must be scheduled online in advance.

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive around 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment. New clients should complete their intake forms before arriving so that appointment time can be used for your consultation and hands-on session.

What is your cancellation policy?

A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee according to the policy agreed to when booking.

02. Massage & Services

What type of massage should I book?

Customized Therapeutic Bodywork is a great place to start. Your session will be tailored to your goals and can combine techniques like deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial work and assisted stretching depending on what you need.

Do you offer deep tissue massage?

Yes. Deep tissue techniques can be incorporated into a customized therapeutic session when appropriate.

Pressure and techniques are adjusted based on your goals, comfort level and the areas being addressed.

Do you offer sports massage?

Yes! Sports massage and therapeutic bodywork are available for active clients looking to work on muscle tension, improve mobility, support recovery or give hard-working areas some extra attention.

What is Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage?

Ashiatsu is a massage technique in which the therapist uses their feet to deliver broad, sustained pressure. It can provide deep pressure without the sharper sensation that sometimes comes from elbows or thumbs, making it a great option for clients who enjoy deeper bodywork.

What is Thai Massage?

Thai Massage combines assisted stretching, compression and movement to work with mobility and tension throughout the body. Depending on the session, Thai techniques may be performed on a massage table or floor mat.

Do you offer Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

Yes. Libra Massage offers Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) for both wellness and post-operative needs. MLD is a gentle, specialized technique designed to support the movement of lymphatic fluid.

If you're seeking post-operative MLD, please provide relevant information about your procedure when booking so we can determine whether massage is appropriate for your stage of recovery.

Is 60 minutes enough for a full-body massage?

If you have a few specific areas you’d like to focus on, 60 minutes is a great option.

For full-body work with enough time to give problem areas some extra attention, I recommend booking 90 minutes.

How often should I get a massage?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. How often you book will depend on your body, lifestyle, goals and what we’re working on. Some clients make massage part of their regular routine, while others book when they need a little extra attention. We can talk about what makes sense for you after your session.

What is Thai Massage?

Thai Massage combines assisted stretching, compression and movement to work with mobility and tension throughout the body. Depending on the session, Thai techniques may be performed on a massage table or floor mat.

03. Your Appointment

What should I expect at my first appointment?

New clients will complete an intake form before their appointment. When you arrive, we’ll talk about how your body’s feeling, what you’d like to focus on, your pressure preferences and anything else I should know. I’ll use that to customize your massage and choose the techniques that make sense for you.

Do I have to completely undress for my massage?

No. You should undress only to your personal comfort level. Professional draping is used throughout table massage, and only the area currently being worked on is uncovered.

Some services and techniques, including certain Thai Massage and assisted stretching sessions, may be performed while you remain clothed.

Where is Libra Massage located?

Libra Massage is located in Apex, North Carolina.

Detailed location and arrival information are provided with your appointment confirmation.

Is the studio wheelchair accessible?

The massage studio is located upstairs and there is no elevator available.

If stairs may be difficult for you, please take this into consideration before booking.

04. Payments & Gift Cards

Do you accept HSA or FSA cards?

HSA and FSA cards may be accepted when your plan allows massage therapy as an eligible expense. Eligibility is determined by your individual plan. A receipt can be provided if needed for reimbursement or documentation.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. Gift cards are available to purchase for birthdays, holidays, thank-yous, or simply treating someone who could use a little time to rest, recover and put their body first.
